UMOR Tool-Kit for Investigators – Moving from In-Person to Remote Approaches

Tabbye Chavous, Associate Vice President for Research – Social Sciences, Humanities and the Arts, has coordinated the development of a tool-kit (PDF) for investigators that provides information and resources to assist with moving to remote data collection methods. Members of the research community are encouraged to share additional information with their colleagues via this tool-kit.

Obtaining Electronic Consent

Some projects reviewed by IRB-HSBS may require that investigators obtain signed consent from participants. IRBMED has recently identified SignNow as a tool that can be used to obtain a legally effective electronic signature for projects that require documented consent. This resource is available to all U-M researchers. Information about SignNow (PDF) is found on the IRBMED website.

UMOR DEI Committee

As part of the institution’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), many academic, research, and auxiliary units across campus have established overarching planning groups or committees. The UMOR DEI Committee is made up of a cross-section of representatives from U-M Office of Research units who meet regularly to create and manage annual plans and reports around DEI efforts, discuss DEI programs and resources, and consult on DEI issues and follow-up.
